Improving process reliability with Merus™ Active Harmonic Filters in an adventure park

Filtering harmonic currents of DC drives

Rides in a large adventure park in Finland were fed by DC drives. The drives were causing power quality problems such as harmonic distortions, voltage fluctuations and commutation notches. Problems were particularly high on certain rides fed with DC drives. These particular rides were disturbing even other rides in the park. Active harmonic filtering solutions were rated after a third-party power quality audit.
